Then my blog post would appear at the top of the search results under the tag "Fishing" in Technorati until someone else writes a blog post under the same tag then you move down one spot.

The more popular the tag the faster your post will move down the list.

Now here is the most important part.

A "hot" tag can quickly drive loads targeted traffic to your blog. This may result in an increase in Adsense clicks at your blogs or even an increase in sales if you have links leading to your product or even affiliate products.
